Recorder Fundamentals: Articulation for Recorder Players Part 1
This workshop explores the crucial relationship between language and articulation when playing early music on the recorder. Historical sources will be used as well as exercises designed to make simple the use of the tongue in expressing note groups, meter and character.
This workshop is aimed at players of mixed ability or teachers wishing to expand their understanding of the recorder and it's expressive capabilities in an historical context.

2. Fundamental techniques to develop a nuanced use of the tongue
3. The historical and musical context of articulation
Prerequisites
The ability to play at least one octave on a descant / tenor or alto recorder.

1. All materials provided
2. Either an alto or descant / tenor for trying the exercises
