Drawing together concepts presented in the Recorder Fundamentals series, this workshop will look at the third movement of Handel's Sonata in F for Recorder and Continuo - Alla Siciliana.
This will reinforce strategies of interpretation for both players wishing to increase their skills and understanding in the execution of standar baroque recorder repertoire and listeners who wish to deepen their understanding and aesthetic judgement of music and performance.

What You'll Learn

Participants will gain an understanding of the Sicilliana, reinforce skills in recognising structure, and practise making choices of what may constitue a gesture in baroque music with reference to articulation and rhetoricical principles.

Prerequisites

For players, the ability to play 2 octaves on a treble recorder would be advantageous, although versions of the examples will be provided for players of C instruments.

What You'll Need

Workshop notes and examples will be available when clicking the Materials button after purchase by going to 'My Registrations'.
